For more than 15 years we kept collecting rugs from central asia. In the course of the time we specialized to the items made by Uzbeks, Kyrgyz and (maybe) Karakalpaks. A great part of the items was brought to Afghanistan during and after the Russian revolution by moving nomads and was later sold to Europe because the war in Afghanistan.
A major part of our collection is devoted to the so-called "napramatsch", a small knotted rug. We now own more than 100 of them and intend to publish something about these after further investigation. As the literature is relatively poor, we hope for suggestions from other collectors. There are of course many other things we have collected, which you may find on our pages. Because of the limited space we only can show you a part of our collection.

We have
tried to keep the size of all pages as small as possible. So there are
no special effects and no background textures. When you enter one of
the picture pages you will find clickable thumbnails. They are
related to JPG-files which vary between 30K and 50K.
Even with this size the quality is not what we would really fancy, but
we do not want you sitting in front of your machine wasting time and
money. We just want to give you an idea of what the items are like. Hit
the "back" button to return to the page.
